Dr. Ahmann brings to ITS the unique combination of a diverse medical background and a strong passion for helping people with substance dependence conditions. He has extensive experience in working with patients of all ages who have complex medical issues and is dedicated to providing excellent healthcare in accordance with the highest professional standards. Utilizing holistic approaches, he promotes optimal overall health and well-being for all patients. He has a friendly and approachable demeanor that helps to put patients and their families at ease while he passionately strives for excellent results.
During the course of his professional training and practice, Dr. Ahmann has gained both inpatient and outpatient experience in not only Addiction Medicine and Family Medicine, but also Psychiatry, Neurology, Emergency Medicine and Sports Medicine in addition to several other disciplines of medicine. He is currently certified by both the American Board of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Ahmann has been a resident of the Phoenix area since 1980. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology at Arizona State University before his initial 14-year career in the computer industry. In 1997 he returned to ASU for his pre-med studies, then attended Midwestern University medical school from 2001-2005. Dr. Ahmann performed his medical internship at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, and then finished his residency in Family Medicine at Phoenix Baptist Hospital in 2008. He completed his fellowship in Age Management Medicine at Cenegenics Medical Institute before founding his first practice, Arizona Age Management. He worked extensively in urgent care while he developed Total Primary Care, a full-service Family and Addiction Medicine clinic in 2009. His recent accolades include awards for improving the quality of patient care and competence in the use of electronic medical records technology to improve patient care.
